Christoph Mornlinghaus is an architectural photographer based in New york. His clients include Big, Condé Nast Traveler , Details, Dwell, Fortune, Le Dictateur, Martha Stewart Living, Monocle, New York Magazine, and Wallpaper.
I find a lot of his work mysterious and shrouded in loneliness especially his derelict site shoots. The abandoned spaces for me are not necessarily spaces of neglect and lost hope but full of opportunity and potential, although this is coming from my back ground in interior design and a love of dilapidated buildings.
His work on churches really does capture a spiritual element but also portrays a creepy eeriness which I also often experience in churches.
